Next Thursday will be Thinking Day, some sort of a Founder's Day for Girl Guides and Scouts. Just this Wednesday, we rehearsed the foot drill for Thinking Day. The Year 1s did not know the foot drill, so our seniors had to teach us the commands and actions.

We stumbled at first, so we had to hold our left foot 90 degrees in the air and balance on our right foot for a minute. We have to line up neatly in three straight rows on the day itself, and I am in the first row. We are also advised to wear white shoes instead of sports shoes. (Know the meaning of the centre of attraction? Haha)

During the speech on Thinking day, we are not allowed to move around, and have to stand at attention. Well, this is really something new to me, which I have not done before. I'm a little nervous that I may forget the steps, as we had only Wednesday to practise. I hope everything turns out well. (*Keeping fingers crossed*)

Today, we did not have to go to school. I think this applies to only Dunman High students. We were rewarded this day off by our principal, thanks to our dear Year 5 seniors who did well in their O Levels last year. (Thank you sooooo much!!!)

So, most of the 6/1'06 students from Dunman High, including me, went back to RSS to visit our teachers. Some 6/1'06 pupils from other schools came back to visit too. We mingled around and played tag for a while. (Childish? I don't think so)
Then,we went to the IT Resource Room to view a slide show of the photos taken during our gathering on the 3rd of February.

After that, we proceeded to Junyuan Primary School, where our former form teacher, Mrs Koh, was teaching in. (She had a new hairstyle!) She was having her lunch when we arrived. (Oops, intruders? Haha) We chatted happily and also showed her the slide show. It really felt great to be back together again. (Awww, it's so sweet! Haha)

Just two days ago was the very first 6/1'06 reunion of the year 2007. The gathering started at 5pm, but Yvon, Shu Chuin and I had to go there later as we had to go for the play, 'The Pickle King'. We arrived there at 7pm. (*coughs* Punctuality is a virtue...But it really couldn't be helped!)

Unfortunately, quite a number of classmates did not turn up for the reunion, but there were still about 20+ classmates present. We had a lot of fun cheering during dinner. (Awww, we are still so bonded, haha) We were so noisy that the people from the chalet beside us were laughing.

After dinner, we proceeded to the field for games. (Dark and spooky...Just joking) We used someone's handphone and played a game which went like this: The person with the handphone must try to make sure no one notices that he or she has it. He or she has to pass the handphone to another person of the same gender without being tagged. One condition; the person cannot put the handphone in his pocket. So the game goes on and on.

We also played the bombing game.(It's so popular, I'm sure most people know about it)Then, some crazy people from 6/1, started shouting names of compatible pairs, (you know what I mean) and everyone started cheering and clapping. Well, this reunion is really one filled with shouting and cheering!

My very first Girl Guides activity was held last Friday. I really did have a whale of a time! There were a lot of games lined up for us. (It was an obstacle journey)

My favourite game was the one where we had to construct a Roman Chariot using wood and ropes. (It HAD to be very stable!!!)We transported one person per trip from one end of the field to the other. Then the person being transported had to take a flag, balance all the way back to starting point on canteen benches, (while our Year 4 seniors threw powder at us) and help with the transportation of the next person.

We had to complete the task as quickly as possible. I feel that this activity really builds up team spirit, which is the purpose of Girl Guides. (It rocks!!!)

After all the fun, we had an outdoor cooking session. First, we soaked a sack in water. Next, we got out the solid fuel, broke them into quarters, and put them in the mess tin. Then, we lighted a fire for the instant noodles to be cooked. We also added an egg inside. The instant noodles were simple but sumptuous, and we really enjoyed it. (Yum!!!)

Well, for those practical people who think that Girl Guides only require us to obey commands all day long, (We do, but not all the time) I am sure they will have a different perspective of it after reading this. I am really looking forward to more fun-packed activities in Girl Guides.
